When I attempt to empty Trash while app is in the Trash, I get this dialogue: Another thing I tried with another duplicate file was to move it back into directory where the original app resides, I am not allowed to replace it. If I duplicate the app into another directory, I can take the duplicated file move to Trash and delete with no issues. The Catalina app has a white circle with a slash through it. I tried everything again as stated above, no change.įYI. ![]() I rebooted and tried to empty Trash with the same result. When I empty the Trash, I get a dialogue box that says the file is in use. Then went to remove the app out of Applications into the Trash. I initiated the Terminal command that you cited above. I pulled the app out of the Trash and put in the Applications folder. ![]()
